The arrest of Diana Tukundane for allegedly stealing USD 400 at the Kigali International Airport is interesting and can be a lesson to many people.

I had a heated debate recently and the focus of the discussion was on whether these closed circuit television cameras (CCTV) indeed function.  One colleague insisted that police installed CCTV cameras just to frighten away would-be criminals!

But following Tukundane’s arrest after her identification through the devices completely rested the debate.  I wish to thank police and other security organs for installing these cameras which will help to stamp out crime in the city.
