THE International Automobile Federation (FIA) president Jean Todt will visit Rwanda on September 10 in his bid to promote the Decade of Action for Road Safety.

The Rwanda automobile club (RAC) boss Yves Kagina told Times Sport yesterday that Rwanda is part of his world-wide tour.

"His visit to Rwanda is aimed at meeting member clubs, government officials and other parties interested n the FIA’s road safety campaign,” added Kagina.

Todt will start his East African tour in Uganda before having stop-overs in Kigali and Bujumbura.

Bringing together over 227 motorsport federations, FIA globally promotes the interests of motorists on issues such as road safety (Make Roads Safe), sustainable mobility (Make Cars Green), tourism and the environment at the United Nations, the European Union and other international institutions.

Based in Paris, FIA is better known to car enthusiasts as the governing body for motorsport worldwide, including Formula One and the World Rally Championship.
