As the Minister of Education, Pierre Damien Habumuremyi, rightly remarked, institutions should partner with local and foreign universities to exchange ideas to improve education. He further urged students to look at creating their own jobs rather than being job seekers.
International internships will surely enhance the quality of education and will give students that extra courage and confidence to venture out into today’s highly competitive world not just as job seekers rather by setting up their own business as a means of creating employment.
The glowing example of Vincent Ruzibuka , a young and dynamic Rwandan comes to my mind. He did an internship with Tata Consultancy Services in Mumbai and that program gave him the required confidence to come back to this beautiful country and set up his own ICT Company.
The Indian Merchants’ Chamber, a 104 year old leading Chamber of Commerce and Industry, would be happy to assist Rwandan students, who might be interested in internships, similar to what Ruzibuka successfully completed.
