THE National cycling team will head straight to camp when they return from Brazil where they posted an average performance in the Tour de Janeiro.

Team Rwanda finished 11th out of 17 teams.

Nicodem Habiyambere was the country’s top rider in 38th position out of 118 cyclists who raced in the 814km race spread over five stages.

Nathan Byuskenge finished 39th while Gasore Hategeka, Emmanuel Rudahunga and Jean de Dieu Uwimana finished 52nd, 58th and 74th respectively.

The team jets back Wednesday morning and according to the National Cycling Federation (Ferwacy)’s Executive Secretary Emmanuel Murenzi, the riders will head straight into camp ahead of next month’s All Africa Games in Maputo-Mozambique.
