Neighbour Diaries: Hiding from Jojo

Most men think it is nice having a pretty chic chasing after you. They ask; “what’s the worst she can do? She is making everything simpler. You get a pretty chic that is crazy about you without any stress.” If the girl wasn’t a psycho, it all makes sense, but Jojo wasn’t really totally sane.  This is her story.

Most men think it is nice having a pretty chic chasing after you. They ask; "what’s the worst she can do? She is making everything simpler.

You get a pretty chic that is crazy about you without any stress.” If the girl wasn’t a psycho, it all makes sense, but Jojo wasn’t really totally sane.  This is her story.

Jojo comes from a very rich family. She finished school quite young and went into business immediately. And she was a really good businesswoman because all her ventures were actually profitable.

That’s why she could afford to spend cash like it grew on a tree in her compound. Her financial status plus her looks and the fact that she was still a young girl, resulted into boredom.

She was bored with everything there was to do, because she had done most of it all anyway.

That’s why she went out of her way to do things that other people would consider mad.

My fault was that I never showed her any interest the first time we met. She was used to guys being mesmerized by her. I too would have been totally dazzled by her, (she is a really pretty looking girl) if I hadn’t been running away from women problems when I met her.

So, by some twist of fate, our paths crossed; she was fed up of guys groveling for her, looking for something different. Me, looking for nothing, just wanting to be left alone! When I unknowingly ignored her, she probably mistook it for me being a different breed of man.

But I am not. In fact, I would have soon gotten really interested in her if she hadn’t started playing mind games first with my grandpa and then next with me.

Yesterday, she sent some guy to my workplace. Since I had changed numbers and refused to give her my new number, she bought me a phone and sent it to my office.

She told the guy delivering it to wait until she had talked to me. That sounded like bullying, but the guy was really huge, I didn’t want to get into any disagreement with him. Besides, he looked already angry about something.

So, when he got there, he called and told Jojo he was with me. Then he handed me the phone. She said, "Shem, you have been a bad boy! Changing your number without telling me!

Anyway, I have bought you a phone; I will be calling you later!” And she hung up. No, I didn’t refuse to take the phone, no way! It is a brand new i-phone, 4G! That is not a phone you throw away.

When she called later that evening, I was with Diana, my ex who wants us to make up again. I refused to answer the call. Diana asked me where I had got the new phone from (implying that I couldn’t buy myself such a phone?).

I fed her some lie about the phone being a gift from my cousin in UK. She didn’t seem to buy the lie, but she let it pass. Then I got a text. I checked and it was from Jojo. It was the first of a series of texts. She wasn’t pleased about my habits.

I texted her telling her I was in a meeting. She asked me where. I told her I was in the town center, and she replied telling me she was coming over. In fact I was out of the city.

About thirty minutes later, she called me to tell me she was in town. I switched off my phone because I had nothing to tell her.  I can imagine how mad she got!!
