POLICE have become the first club to start pre-season training, Ostine Arinaitwe reports.
Last season’s Peace Cup finalists also confirmed that they had acquired all their transfer targets ahead of the new season.
Police are fresh from their best league performance in years where they finished third and Serbian Goran Kopunovic has now challenged his guns to challenge for silverware next season.
Club president Alphonse Katarebe yesterday said that the reason for early preparations is to integrate the new players into the squad.
"Our target next season is to win trophies but for that to happen, players have to be in top shape when the season kicks off,” he said.
Police’s latest acquisitions are Gabriel Kaze (central defender) and Jean d’Amour Nkurunziza (right back).
Other recruitments include Peter Kagabo (winger), Jacques Tuyisenge (striker), Fredric Nadata (midfielder) and Didier Kavumbagu (striker).
