Despite the defeat, Rwanda still secured a slot in the final qualifying round which will be held in October alongside Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda in the ladies category and Kenya, Egypt and Burundi in the men’s category.
Nine other zonal winners will qualify for the final phase, where the winner will secure a ticket to the Games.
