Movies water down our culture Damn the movie industry and the horse on which it rode on. Nollywood, Hollywood, bollywood, hillywood, God knows the next name on the scene; all I care are the horrible impacts of the movie industries. No wonder Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger banned his children from watching movies he acted.

Damn the movie industry and the horse on which it rode on. Nollywood, Hollywood, bollywood, hillywood, God knows the next name on the scene; all I care are the horrible impacts of the movie industries.
No wonder Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger banned his children from watching movies he acted.
In a bad way, movies are unveiling all sorts of insanity yet we reluctantly dub it entertainment. Baggy jeans, half naked teenagers, drug addicts all result from that high school movie that included the scene; thanks to the movie I hear entertainment industry.
Obscene slung, lighting up cigars have no African origin, the movies found the habits a residence in our hearts. And as you drink, please drink up for the next crazy generation, who knows where the movies will have gotten them to?
I bet 2020 will present more pregnant students, abusive youths and yes, a cultureless youth who will only respect their disrespectful movie stars.
Anders Behring Breivik probably watched many wrong movies that motivated him to massacre his fellow Norwegians. Otherwise, how could a thirty two year old learn such cruelty given the fact that Norway is a peaceful country? Who knows, the dude might have watched The deliberate Stranger, To catch a killer or any other number one serial killer movie.
And when Norway’s Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg terms the terrible act as, "being caught up in the wrong scene of the wrong movie,” I totally agree with him. In my opinion, the movie industry is to be blamed for injustice, lack of culture and manners among youth as well as the advanced ways to create hazardous drugs that are harmful to human nature.
Not all stars are bright, meaning, all movies are not bad but, they at least carry a little negativity within. It might be the dress code, representation, or something else. Many youth trends that are dubbed cool are often copped from the movies.
There is no such thing like born players, thieves, racists,it all starts with that movie whose primary reason was entertainment.
Movie industry has worked a lot upon depriving us of our rich reserved African culture. Public Display of affection was never an option ten years back but look what we have! As if that high school collection would leave any stone unturned?
I highly appreciate hillywood for their efforts to highlight major issues like the 1994 genocide against the Tusti though I suggest that they should close the industry, the moment they run out of highly constructive ideas. I bet no Rwandan could stand seeing their daughter act in a prostitution scene.
By the way, what was the form of entertainment before the movies? Obviously people got the chance to sin around the fire, with the elderly and talk out culture, morals and history. To me, the ancient way is what we need to re-construct a concrete culture among the youth, not good for nothing westernizing movies.
The outcome actually will be youths caught up between languages. They are neither perfect at Kinyarwanda, their mother tongue for that matter or they speak will make a remix of American, French, British, depending on the movies.
And who is responsible for these vampire series? The last time I checked our own youth were addicted, just waiting for the day they will go on hunt for vampire boyfriends and girlfriends.
Several movies are only watering down our true culture.
