The 25-year-old can still be described as a local artiste, though he instantly became famous in the entire East African region after his TPF3 victory. He returned to Rwanda with several prizes like five million Kenyan shillings (about Rwf35m) and several lush contracts.
In Kigali, he immediately recorded his "Tur’umwe” single that made him, the fans favourite during the competition; it did not hit on radio though.
He later featured Tanzanian ace AY in the hit single, ‘Songa Mbele” and Uganda’s Bebe Cool in ‘Come to Me”. They were among the many songs on his debut "One Africa” album.
Alpha attributes his magical voice to the several gospel choirs and churches where he sang since he was a child. He also repeatedly talks about his family’s support toward his music career.
The reggae singer also won last year’s PAM Awards of Uganda, as Rwanda’s best artist.
Once again, representing Rwanda, Alpha is currently performing alongside the most talented contestants at the ‘All Stars’ TPF competitions.
He is still walking tall, in terms of SMS votes: For the past three weeks of the competition, he tops 2010’s magical singers Davis (Uganda) and his 2010 runner up, Msechu (Tanzania).
Alpha will proven himself TPF unbeatable, if he topples up his success by winning the All Stars competition—no wonder his name Alpha (the beginning), suggests it all.
