The veterans of Senior Football Club defeated the volunteers of the British Conservative Party in a thrilling game played at the national football stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Conservatives fielded a strong team and soon held a 2-0 lead thanks to some sublime finishing by Newcastle University star Alby Shale and Jack Rose.

However, the Rwandans fought back and dominated possession, ending the half with a goal from Bonaventure Twizeyimana. Twizeyimana made it 2-2 soon after the break before Silas Misago won it for the Seniors in the 89th minute.

The Conservative team, who are working on social action projects across Rwanda, included 2 Members of the British Parliament, keen sportsmen Stephen Crabb MP and Brooks Newmark MP.

"We fielded a strong team today, including a 15 year-old Manchester City trainee, an ex-Liverpool academy player and a former professional from Port Vale FC,” MP Stephen said after the game.

For their effort, the Rwandan team was awarded the coveted Umubano Trophy for the second year running.
