Rayon Sport coach Jean Marie Ntwgabirwa has released 13 players in a bid to build a team that will challenge APR for the Primus league title next season.
Ntagwabira confirmed the development on Sunday during the club’s general meeting held at Alpha Palace hotel.
During the same meeting, the club also confirmed that they need Frw.180m for recruitment and meeting players’ expenses in the upcoming season.
The money is expected to come from the club’s supporters and well wishers in addition to any input made by the club’s chairman Albert Rudatsimburwa.
The players include long serving servants like Abdul Uwimana, Abed Mulenda and others are Simon Tchipangila, Gasana Papy, Habimana Eric alias Mutoka, Faissal Kanene, Seleman Kibuta, Makengo Frank, Didier Mbulu, Mwanaume Hamiss, Juma Nsanganira, Gaseruka Aloua and Anuary Kibaya.
The Blues coach is said to be monitoring the Bunamwaya duo of Hassan Muwonge (goal Keeper) and defensive midfielder Owen Kasule. Bunamwaya are the champions of Uganda.
Ntwgabirwa told Times Sport recently that he needs two strikers, a central midfielder and goalkeeper before the start of the season late next month.
Rayon Sport has already brought in two players- Hussein Mbanza (Defender) and Fawd Ndayisenga (winger) and also extended contracts for their influential players who include Karim Mckenzie, Abouba Sibomana and Sina Jerome.
