Editor,

I read with trepidation the story in yesterday’s New Times concerning a man who was attacked and critically injured by a buffalo while fixing a fence along Akagera National Park.

While it is good news that the Rwanda Development Board is fencing the Akagera National Park to stop further attacks, it is equally important that those employed to put up the fence are protected.

Before the fencing started, several people were attacked, killed and their property destroyed from park animals. We have had enough attacks and something must be done quickly. The local leaders should do something.
