WESTERN PROVINCE NYAMASHEKE- Seven men have hacked a Roko construction worker to near death in Gisakura cell, Bushekeri sector.
Masudi Kubwimana, 25, an employee with Roko Construction Company, was attacked on August 27 at 8:30 in the evening on his way home from work.
Narrowly surviving death, Kubwimana ran from the attackers into Nyungwe forest near ORPTN offices, where he was later rushed to Bushenge hospital.
Using sharp pangs and knives, Kubwimana was hacked by John Uzabakiriho, Emmanuel Niringiyimana, John Itegekaharindwe, Alias Hajji, Alias Kazehe, Deo Harerimana, Alias Juakari.
"The culprits stopped me while I was on my way back to where I sleep near Gisakura Tea factory and begun cutting me using sharp pangs and knives,” Kubwimana said.
"They told me that they would not leave me alive since their mission was just to kill me,” he said at Bushenge hospital.
According to Kubwimana, the attackers are former workers at Roko Construction, which is currently building a hotel in the area.
"To my own understanding, I think the culprits wanted to kill me simply due to their bias on me as to why I am still working with this company and for yet for them they lost their jobs after being chased away on charges of stealing the company’s property some months back,” he said.
According to security authorities in the area, five of the criminals are currently being detained at Ntendezi police station.Ends
