A visiting team of United Kingdom Conservatives will distribute 2,000 football kits as part of the group’s ongoing coaching sessions.

The kit was donated by UK footballers to facilitate coaching of soccer among young Rwandans.The group, including premiership youth team players and amateur coaches will train over 500 young Rwandans this month.

On Thursday, the group members distributed over 100 Liverpool Football Club shirts donated to schoolchildren coached via the Project.

According to the spokesperson of the group, the project has received donations from the charity Afrikit and from several English football clubs including Hull City, Liverpool, Crawley Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest.

"The team is travelling around Rwanda to hold training sessions for children as part of the Conservatives’ Project Umubano,”

"They are leaving football equipment with Rwandan schools so that teachers there will be able to continue the lessons started by the Project,” said the group’s spokesperson

The group will now travel around the country, working with teachers and community leaders to teach football.

Amateur football coach Stephen Ogden from Lancaster is leading the coaching project.

"I am inspired by the confidence, happiness and raw talent of Rwanda’s young footballers. Many of the children play football barefooted, but they possess skills worthy of professional players,”

"We hope to instil confidence in the children we meet and one day we hope to see the Rwandan Drogba playing in the English Premiership,” said Ogden

The youngest member of the team is 15 year-old Dan. He was impressed by the talent of the Rwandan youngsters.

"We have met and coached some brilliant young Rwandan players. Their passing and movement is often excellent, and they play with flair. We’ve seen players improving a lot after just a couple of hours of intensive coaching” he said.
