THE national women rugby team, Blackbacks, have been invited to feature in this year’s CAR Women 7s in Gaborone, Botswana.

The tournament is slated to run from October 29-30 and the national rugby federation head Dr. Vianney Otto Muhinda says that the lion’s share of the team will be made up youngsters.

"We have been grooming players and the team will start preparations in August,” he said.

Already, a provisional 35-man squad is available and will be handled by Jean Baptista Itanze.

Rwanda was drawn in Pool A against champions South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe while Pool B pits Kenya against Uganda, Botswana and Madagascar.
