"Looking back at what the country has been through and the progress made in terms of social, economic and political aspects, it is quite impressive,” he said.
The Ambassador added that Rwanda’s transformation process has provided lessons to those who wish to learn from good development practices.
Abdelrahman stressed that the relationship between the two countries is quite strong and both countries have a common interest in maintaining peace and security in Africa by contributing to the peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan.
Speaking about the recent changes in his country, the envoy said that this was an internal process that should serve as a lesson to other countries facing similar circumstances.
"Egyptians made a miracle happen and the government is working with all segments of the society in modeling effective political, economic and social institutions fundamentally different from those that prevailed under the former regime.”
Ambassador Jacqueline Mukangira, the Director of Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation who spoke on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that Rwanda and Egypt enjoy strong bilateral friendly relations.
