Remera Buffaloes lift Kigali 7s title

RWANDA’S top rugby club Remera Buffaloes added another trophy to their already glittering trophy cabinet after beating rivals Shark 28-0 in the final of the Kigali 7’s tournament played yesterday at Red Cross grounds in Kacyiru.Vincent Kamali top scored for the league champions with 8 tries. Lucien Bikamba and Allan Amin Otim scored one try each. Bikamba also converted four tries.

RWANDA’S top rugby club Remera Buffaloes added another trophy to their already glittering trophy cabinet after beating rivals Shark 28-0 in the final of the Kigali 7’s tournament played yesterday at Red Cross grounds in Kacyiru.

Vincent Kamali top scored for the league champions with 8 tries. Lucien Bikamba and Allan Amin Otim scored one try each. Bikamba also converted four tries.

Buffaloes A overcame Lions de Fer A, Sharks B and Grizzlies A in the knock out stage before meeting Sharks A in the finals.

The man of the match accolade was contentiously awarded to Shark’s scrum half Barnabe Ngizwenayo.

The one-day tournament attracted eight clubs namely; Buffaloes (A & B), Sharks (A & B), Lion de fer (A & B) and Grizzlies (A & B).

In the junior’s U-14 category, Gikondo Sharks beat Red Cross to lift the title.

Buffaloes have won the national league for five seasons running and hot favourites to successfully defend it this season again.
