As I rested on my bed yesterday, having it in mind that we are rolling into World friends’ week, I begun to think about my friends. I then got up to write something about those who appear on my list of friends. And this I cannot afford not to share with you.

Friends are special gifts of life, like the Bible puts it,” One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).
I greatly agree with it not because no one can dare to dispute that Holy book but because when I look at my friends, who they are and what they have been, it gives me reason to smile.
Believe it or not, there are friends who stick closer than a brother and those you should definitely place the highest on your list of true friends, they are special gifts of life.
A true friend will be there for you even when the mist and fog are thick. When there is no way, a true friend will try to do what they can to create a way for you.
Like the morning sun unwraps, a true friend brings brightness to a dark day. A true friend adds meaning to life; they make life worthwhile- the reason to shout halleluyah!
I cannot imagine living without a friend, it would be inhuman – I suppose because we need each other. There are situations where a relative will not help but a friend solves that equation of life and helps you find X.
A true friend is indeed a gift that should be treasured and cherished because there value cannot be compared to anything. They are more precious than silver, gold or even any other precious stone.
True friends often keep hope in you alive; they will offer a shoulder to cry on. When you are in the deepest of valleys they will encourage and support you, all in the name of bringing you joy.
This is because as a friend, that is what he/she is meant to do, make your day bright and keep a smile on ones face regardless of the problems you are going through.
A long lost friend of mine recently called me and said, "I pray for you every day and wish you the best in life.”This phone call caught me by surprise; it had been so long we had lost touch with this friend.
This even made me love her more but better still it taught me one thing – Friendship knows no distance and that true friends forever will be because they are special gifts of life that are given by God.
Therefore, for those who have true friends- treasure, value, cherish and celebrate them as we roll into the World Friendship week.
