Calcium provides nutrients in our bodies. Calcium also provides protein, vitamin A, vitamin D, and B vitamins.

Calcium helps to strengthen our bones; it is able to make our bones grow stronger and longer. It also helps to stop bleeding if you get cut or bruised. Calcium helps to contract and relax our muscles.

So try to build strong bones with these foods in the milk group which includes flavored milk like strawberry, chocolate, yogurt, cheese to mention but a few.

The importance of our muscles is to hold our bones together and make them move. Meat group foods help to build stronger muscles. Foods in this group provide proteins and iron.

Iron in our body is important because it carries oxygen to all parts of our bodies, Iron prevents infections and anemia that can make us feel tired. Iron gives us energy that gets us through busy days.
