A delegation of five Burundian officials from the office of the Ombudsman yesterday arrived in the country on a study tour. The group led by the Burundian Ombudsman, Mohammed Rukara, is in the country to learn from the achievements registered by their Rwandan counterparts in preventing and fighting injustice and corruption.

The group led by the Burundian Ombudsman, Mohammed Rukara, is in the country to learn from the achievements registered by their Rwandan counterparts in preventing and fighting injustice and corruption.
Jules Mugisha, an official from the office of the Ombudsman explained the reason for the tour.
"Their trip is centred around studying how our country has managed to achieve tremendous progress in good governance through fighting and preventing corruption and other forms of injustice,” said Mugusha.
He added that the visit is also aimed at discussing how the two institutions can share information and experiences to facilitate the prevention of injustice in the two countries.
According to Mugisha, the delegation will visit various institutions that work with the office of the Ombudsman, including the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC), the Parliament and local NGO, Rwanda Initiative for Sustainable Development (RISD).
He added that at the end of their tour, the two Ombudsmen will sign a memorandum of understanding to strengthening their bilateral ties.
