KIE vs KBC -11am (Amahoro Stadium)
APR’s unbeaten run this season is under threat as they take on national defending champions KBC this afternoon at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
The army side has to negotiate today’s tie without four key players. New signing Patrick Buzangu (shooting guard) is down with malaria; Serge Kabangu (post-player) and Nasihu Abewe (shooting guard) are nursing ankle injuries while Kami Kabange is struggling for match fitness after recovering from typhoid.
The indomitable lions have been in great form after a run of seven wins on the trot and are keen to finish the first round on a high.
"Of course missing the likes of Patrick, Kabangu and Abewe is a big blow for us but we still have enough quality in the side to see off KBC,” APR’s coach Cliff Owuor noted.
Last year, APR claimed a 24-point win over KBC in the first leg but lost the return leg by a point to lose the title to the debutants.
KBC will also miss their influential point guard Patrick Djunga.
