Fitidis, who finished behind Davite Giancarlo in last week’s Huye rally, departs for Uganda this weekend to have enough reccing time ahead of the 528km race.
The ace driver is eager to build on last year’s third place finish.
The race will dust off with a super special stage at Lubiri Double Circuit next Friday. Thereafter, cars will head to Mukono villages and Lugazi’s expansive sugarcane plantations for the second and final legs on July 16 and 17 respectively.
Former Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) boss Dismas Kayibanda has been appointed as the chief steward for the race.
Other drivers in contest include defending champion Jamie Whyte of Zimbabwe, Susan Muwonge ‘Super Lady’, 1999 Africa champion Charles Muhangi, Wycliffe Bukenya, Edson Munghereza, Godfrey Lubega John Barlow Lumu, Ismail Lule, Mansoor Sanya, Burundian Allan Bethise and the Madagascar pair of Frederic Rakotomanga and Ranarivelo Jean, Satvinder Saini, Ismail Ortega and Godfrey Nsamba.
Former Uganda rally champions Lwakataka and Ronald Ssebuguzi as well as Jas Mangat have also confirmed their entries.
