I live in Nairobi, Kenya and I would like to commend the government of Rwanda for a great job done in refurbishing the Kigali city roads.

I have travelled in the region widely and I have not seen a better and organised road network like that of Rwanda.

If you drove around the roads of Kigali city, you feel proud and wish to live in Kigali. Driving through the city’s streets is easy with no traffic jams to hold you back.

The frequent road repairs have probably made Kigali the first pot-hole free city within the East Africa Community. Other countries in the region should realise that it takes the commitment of a government to ensure that roads are well constructed by competent engineers. The problem is that such a process is susceptible to corruption which is not the case in Rwanda.

For instance, the side walks, the street lights and the organised round-abouts are such a sight to behold for any visitor in the country.

The government of Rwanda has done a great job and the rest of the region should pick a lesson from this remarkable success.
