RUBAVU-The Justice strengthening project, in collaboration with the government, are in Rubavu district to train 18 attorneys from Parliament and the Ministry of Justice.

The trainees are from the drafting and legislative departments.

"Our daily work is to update laws to match international laws and since we joined the East African Community, this training will give us the knowledge to work on the uniformity of regional laws,” said Frank Mwine Mugisha, a participant.

Mwine expressed the need for the continuation of the exercise on a periodical basis because they would learn a lot thus improving their work.

The week long course that started on Monday is the fifth in a series of 17 modules with 13 already covered.

"The course will ensure clear legislation, more understanding of laws by both judges and citizens and better results,” explained John Bosley, the team leader and trainer.
