MIRACLES rarely happen in football but Rwanda still, Rwanda will tonight be hoping for a miracle if they are to progress to the last 16 at the Fifa U-17 World Cup.

The junior wasps meet head-on with Canada in the battle between two teams occupying the last two slots on group C at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca.

The junior wasps find themselves in a quite difficult position, needing to take all three points and hope it proves enough to edge them into the last 16.

Having lost the first two games against England and Uruguay, the junior wasps need to win with a big score and hope that the other results go in their favour.

A sold win in tonight’s match will give Rwanda three points and leave Canada on one but Richard Tardy’s team can only progress among the best two third-placed teams.

The Canadians picked up their first point in a draw with England on Wednesday while Rwanda was denied theirs in dramatic fashion against Uruguay.

The Canadians are well known for their physical approach and they do play stylish football that revolves around their main hitman Keven Aleman.

However, the junior wasps improved from their 2-0 loss on opening day to England and to stage an impressive game against Uruguay before losing on the last second.

Coach Tardy will miss the services of Michelle Rusheshangoga who is suspended for today’s game and Faustin Usengimana who aggravated his knee injury on Wednesday.

With the absence, Célestin Ndayishimiye is likely to secure his place on the left back forcing Jean Marie Rusingizandekwe to return back to his initial right back position.

Tardy said yesterday, "We are still alive and need the result whatsoever. The team is ready to give in everything.”

Four points will take Canada to the next round and their coach Sean Fleming has stated the need to concentrate and battle until the end.

Still in group C, England takes on Uruguay who has already booked their passage to the knockout round in Torreon.
