AMAVUBI captain Haruna Niyonzima has agreed a two-year deal with Tanzanian league champions Yanga African football club, Times Sport understands.
The winger whose contract with APR runs out in September can technically listen to offers from other clubs after the transfer window opened yesterday, but cannot sign or play for any other club before September.
Although Niyonzima did not pick up calls from this paper, a close source to the player confirmed that he finalized personal terms with a senior Yanga club official, who was in Kigali early this week.
In the two year deal, the APR assistant captain will be given USD 30.000 (about Rwf 17m) as a signing on fee and will be getting a monthly salary of USD 1500 (Rwf0.8m)
APR’s Secretary General Adophe Kalisa denied any knowledge of the deal and said Niyonzima is still an APR player until his contract runs out. APR is yet to offer their influential player a new deal, which leaves the door open for a move to Tanzania.
In addition to Niyonzima, other senior players, whose contracts are nearing an end include; Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi, Albert Ngabo, Jean Claude Ndoli, Jean Marie Vianney Rukundo, Didier Kapet.
Others are Abbas Rassou, Omar Hitimana, Eric Ndayishimiye alias Bakame, Tchimanga Mutamba, Hegeman Ngoma and Landry Logba.
