Dear editor,
When twegerane owners in the country decided to hike taxi fares in the Kigali city from Frw100 to between Frw150-Frw200 per drop, I started using the government passenger buses—Onatracom because their fares are predictable and remain the cheapest at only Frw100 per drop.
And today as a number of city commuters vote Onatracom, drivers and conductors are abusing the passengers’ rights. The buses are so overloaded that sometimes passengers have to sit on each others’ laps.
This inconveniences a lot as some passengers have to dangerously balance on one buttock for over 15 kilometres.
Police you have to police Onatracom drivers to protect the passengers.
The conductors behave as if they have targets of selling particular tickets on the routes. So most times we are packed like sardines. Please reign in and punish these drivers.
We are relying on you in a country where consumer protection associations are not functional.
