45 Kicukiro vulnerable families given houses

KICUKIRO - Members of Parliament, yesterday, officially handed over houses to 45 vulnerable families in Masaka Sector, Kicukiro District.The houses are from a joint project funded by Members of Parliament, Kigali City, National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) and Kicukiro District.

KICUKIRO - Members of Parliament, yesterday, officially handed over houses to 45 vulnerable families in Masaka Sector, Kicukiro District.

The houses are from a joint project funded by Members of Parliament, Kigali City, National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) and Kicukiro District."I could not afford rent. Now this has made my life better,” Eugenie Mukankubito, one of the beneficiaries, said.,

"I only have to find means of feeding my children but not bother with rent anymore.” said the single parent of four who could not hide her excitement.

The houses that accommodate two families separately cost Rwf 19 m each. They have two bed rooms, sitting room, kitchen and a toilet.

Led by the Vice Speaker of Parliament, Polisi Denis, the team also donated an assortment of items worth

Rwf  3 million They included rice, sugar, soap and cooking oil.

"We have to find solutions to our problems as Rwandans and even work harder to prevent or solve what we face in our everyday life,” Polisi said.

The beneficiaries were selected from three sectors including Kanombe, Masaka and Nyarugunga.
