The Vice Mayor of the City of Kigali, Hope Tumukunde, said that the city will create income generating projects for 400 Genocide survivors.

The survivors who stand to benefit are members of a group of 84 families that comprise the ‘Tubeho Association’ based in Kimironko, Kigali.

Tumukunde made the pledge, yesterday, during an event organised by the city to honour 14 former employees who died in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

"We will create projects that can generate income for members of the association under the framework of supporting Genocide survivors. Many more orphans and needy survivors will benefit from several projects that will follow,” the Vice Mayor said.
