It is unbelievable that Rwanda has developed to this level in the last 17 years, registering an impressive economic transformation and ensuring peace for all Rwandans.

Around this time in June 1994, innocent civilians were being slaughtered and massacred  on industrial scale. The country was in a total mess and the economy utterly shattered.

From scratch, the country began a daunting task to rebuild itself.

The journey was indeed a rough one, that required courage, character, charisma and determination.
 
Much had to be done, yet little was available to accomplish the task.

Rwanda stands out as an example to many countries now, with its success in handling reconciliation through Gacaca courts, infrastructure development, environmental conservation, and health insurance policy covering almost 90 percent of the population.

It is also one of the best business hubs in the region, with zero tolerance to corruption and prevailing security. Rwanda, a land of a thousand hills, and formerly, a land of a thousand problems, is now the epitome of a thousand achievements. Let’s keep it up.
