As Usengimana is ruled out of England’s opener

JUNIOR Wasps coach Richard Tardy has admitted that he is worried about his team’s defensive strength after learning that he will be without center back Faustin Usengimana for Sunday’s Group C opener against England.

Usengimana twisted his knee during Thursday’s training session and is now set to sit out Sunday’s game.

According to the team doctor Antoine Rudasingwa, the defender could even miss Rwanda’s second game against Uruguay.

"The scan shows that the injury is not as bad as first feared but he (Usengimana) will definitely miss Sunday’s game and could even sit out the Uruguay game,” Rudasingwa said.

This is the second time Tardy has lost an influential player ahead of a big tournament.

Early this year (January), Shadad Nsengayire injured his right leg three days to CAF U-17 Championship opener against Burkina Faso.

In Usengimana’s absence, Emery Bayisenge is likely to partner Michelle Rusheshangoga in central defense with Jean Marie Rusizingizadekwe filling in at the right back position and Celestin Ndayishimiye playing in the left back position.

On a lighter note, Justin Mico has recovered from a knee sprain and is set to start Sunday’s game. 
Meanwhile, Super Sport has secured broadcasting rights for the tournament.

A statement released by the Host Broadcasting Services (HBS) on Thursday confirmed that Super Sport is among several broadcasters.

HBS is the official broadcaster for all Fifa events namely; FIFA World Cup, FIFA Confederations Cup, FIFA Women’s World Cup and Fifa Beach soccer to mention but a few.

The tournament kicks off tonight with a clash between hosts and 2005 champions Mexico and Korea DPR.
