GATSIBO - World Vision Rwanda, yesterday inaugurated a primary school in Gatsibo District worth Rwf 60 million.

The school located in Rugarama Sector, will accommodate over 981 pupils from primary One up to Three.

Commissioning the school, the World Vision Country Director, George Githae, affirmed their commitment to ensure that all children have equal access to education.

"Our mission is to strive for children’s’ welfare…by helping them go to school, which is the reason why we are here today to hand over the school to you,” he said.

"We knew that there was no school in this area and later realised that children needed to be saved from walking long distances to school,” he added.

Githae challenged area residents and pupils to take good care of the school, saying it is valuable for future generations as well.

Gatsibo District vice Mayor in charge of Finance and Economic Development, Isaie Habarurema, thanked World Vision for the school, urging children to work hard to attain their academic dreams.

"You have a school close to you. It is your turn to excel and attain your academic ambitions.”
