As one of the most successful artists, the 25 year old started his singing in church choirs, way back in 1995. Ten years later, he tried to chase his dream of becoming a star by forming group Afro-Saints. Though group work did not work out either, it polished his voice.
In 2007, the then upcoming singer recorded his outbreak song, "Mbwira” and started to be invited on shows. He released his first "KUKI” album in mid 2008 and "SIBEZA in 2009.
He later won the esteemed Salax Awards, for best male artist and best videos. His collaborations with regional artists, Proffessor J, Kidumu, Radio &Weasle and General Ozzy, sealed his position as one of the most successful artists Rwanda has known.
The soft spoken singer has been figure pointed lately, for owning music instrumentals of foreign artists, for his own records. He blames the poor quality of audio productions, for his taking the "alternative path”- piracy.
But Tom Close is not the kind of guy who is scared away by fanatics. He instead becomes more aggressive daily. He is busier than ever now, recording his third album and shooting its videos- look out for it!
