The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) prosecutor, Hassan Bubacar Jallow, over the weekend, once again, called for cooperation from Kenya and Zimbabwe in the arrest of high level Genocide fugitives, Félicien Kabuga and Protais Mpiranya.

This is not the first time the ICTR has called on countries to cooperate with ICTR and arrest all genocide suspects still hiding in their countries.

The suspects committed harrowing crimes in Rwanda. Their crimes include; Conspiracy to Commit Genocide, Genocide, Complicity in Genocide, direct and Public Incitement to Commit Genocide.

It really shocks me when I hear that some countries are unwilling to hand over these suspects to face trial in Arusha.  There is no way the culture of impunity will end without punishing people who committed the Genocide.

Remember, it is Rwanda today, but tomorrow, it will be another country pleading with Kigali to cooperate and arrest wanted criminals. All countries have an obligation to cooperate and help justice prevail.
