Editor,

The sentence handed to two former leaders in Rutsiro District, jointly accused of swindling public funds should be a big lesson.

Rwanda has won global accolades following her zero tolerance against corruption and leaders who condon the vice should indeed be disciplined and handed heavy punishment.

It is unfortunate that the former Mayor, Jean Ndimubahire, and Jean Pierre Nsabimana, former Executive Secretary of The National Youth Council in the district, who were supposed to be at the forefront in the fight against corruption, are the same people who flouted the rules.
I am happy our government has been relentless in its quest to fight the vice.

I appeal to fellow Rwandans to help our anti-corruption bodies eliminate graft once and for all.
