The Junior Wasps left their training camp in Taos for Mexico yesterday ahead of the start of the Fifa U-17 World Cup, which kicks off on June 18.

The delegation, aboard US Airways left Taos, New Mexico where they have been camping since May 27, yesterday afternoon and arrived in Mexico City at midnight.

They spent a night at Camino Real Hotel in Mexico City before travelling 96km by road to Pachuca where they are scheduled to arrive this evening.

In Taos, the team wrapped up their two-week training camp in Taos in style after a 4-0 win over NM Rush Argonauts U-17 side.

The result meant that Richard Tardy’s team won all their three friendlies; the others being a 3-1 win over Rio Vista U-19 and 3-0 victory against Classic Gladiators U-18.

Prior to departure from New Mexico, coach Tardy said, "Rwanda is ready for the World Cup. It will be a difficult competition for us since it is our first time, but we are ready.”

Rwanda plays Panama on Monday in what will be the last warm-up game for them before they face off England in the opening game of Group C at Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca on June 19.
