MINIRENA staff visit Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre

KIGALI - The Ministry of Natural Resources and its agencies; Rwanda Natural Resources Board (RNRB) and Water Resource Management (OGMR), Friday visited Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre to pay tribute to those who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis.In an interview shortly after the visit, Natural Resource Minister, Stanislas Kamanzi, moved by what he saw at the Memorial Centre, told the press that “what happened to Rwanda was a horrific tragedy which serves as a lesson to the whole world that people need to learn in order to avoid the repetition of such tragedies.”

KIGALI - The Ministry of Natural Resources and its agencies; Rwanda Natural Resources Board (RNRB) and Water Resource Management (OGMR), Friday visited Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre to pay tribute to those who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis.

In an interview shortly after the visit, Natural Resource Minister, Stanislas Kamanzi, moved by what he saw at the Memorial Centre, told the press that "what happened to Rwanda was a horrific tragedy which serves as a lesson to the whole world that people need to learn in order to avoid the repetition of such tragedies.”

He added that preventing Genocide should not be a single country’s task, but should be the duty of the whole World.

On the same event, Micheal Biryabarema, the Director of Rwanda Natural Resources Board, said that the memorial centre is a harsh but important reminder of the unspeakable atrocities that humans are capable of committing against one another.

"It is an important place for all Rwandans so we never forget what happened to our relatives and friends,” he said.
