ENGLAND U-17 coach John Peacock expects a tough outing when his young lions take on Rwanda’s Junior Wasps in Group C’s opening match next Sunday.
Peacock is guiding England to their second appearance at the Fifa U-17 tournament following a quarter-final exit in Korea four years ago.
On Wednesday, Peacock was quoted on the FA website as saying, "We have not played any African teams at youth level so to play Rwanda which is only making their debut appearance puts us in a very tricky position,” he said.
The Young Lions arrived in Mexico yesterday and will play a friendly against Ivory Coast on Monday.
Rwanda beat Ivory Coast 1-0 in the semi final of the Africa U-17 championship.
Canada and Uruguay complete Group C.
The other African teams in contention include Congo Brazzaville and Burkina Faso.
