Editor,
I wish to comment on the story that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The Newtimes titled "Premier urges farmers to adopt mechanization”.
For almost 16 years, the Government has tried getting ways of eradicating poverty and hunger among its citizens.
Several pro- people policies have been put in place and as such the average Rwandan lives a better life.
Indeed, these policies have registered remarkable success in transforming the lives of the people especially in rural areas.
There is no doubt that mechanizing agriculture is one of the leading policies that have been advanced by the government of Rwanda and one that has achieved the best results for the country.
Like the Prime Minister rightly put it, a lot has been realized in terms of improved agricultural practices that have led to increased income to farmers countrywide and has increased food supply.
With the various advantages that come with Agricultural mechanization, I think that it’s our best shot at development, considering the fact that the biggest part of our population depends on agriculture.
I would like thank the government for supporting and educating farmers about mechanization of agriculture and hope that local leaders around the country do the same for the betterment of their communities.
