George Gitau

George Gitau is the Country Director of World Vision-Rwanda. Below he shares some more about himself:

What is the first thing you do in the morning
I pray and thank God for the gift of one more new day!

When are you happiest?
I am happiest when I put a smile on a child’s face by helping them do something special in their life!

Greatest fear
Failure to deliver on my promises!

Affectionate memory of your parents
Early intimate lessons on how to live in the world they had brought me into.

The most important thing life has taught you
It’s that one can be all they want to be with determination and courage! Like the US Airforce Motto says:  Be all you can be!  It’s possible!

Greatest achievement
Being able to become a global business player from very humble rural Africa village beginnings.

Childhood memory
We lived innocent lives thinking we owned the whole world....

Retirement plans
When I retire in the next 10 years, I plan to invest in mentoring and coaching the youth as emerging leaders to become sources of positive influence and inspiration for children behind them... and to enable them become leaders with good character!
