AFTER two years on the sidelines, striker Bokota Labama is relishing the opportunity to once again be on the score card for the national side (Amavubi Stars).

The former APR player was unceremoniously suspended by the local football body (Ferwafa) after featuring for a Congolese side while still under contract at the army side.

But after serving his ban and being recalled to the national side following a fruitful season with Congolese giants Motema Pembe, the 27-year-old who was baptized ‘god of goals’ by Rayon Sport fans is confident he will repay Coach Sellas Tetteh’s faith in him.

"First of all, I want to use this opportunity to ask for forgiveness from Amavubi fans, because my mistakes robbed me of contributing to the national team in the last three qualifiers,” he said. "And I’m now ready to do what I do best- which is to score goals,” the stout striker added.

Amavubi’s striking line will most likely be led by Labama and Elias Uzamukunda a.k.a with Olivier Karekezi playing behind the pair.

Rwanda is chasing for their first away win of the campaign which could leave them second in Group H if Benin loses to Ivory Coast in Abidjan.

Ivory Coast tops the Group with 9 points; Benin is second on 4 points while Rwanda is third on 3 points. Burundi lies at the bottom with one point.

Sunday’s game will be handled by Mohamadou Mal Souley from Cameroon.
