PAUL de Tarsio has joined Brazil’s Sao Caetano Volleyball Club on a one-year deal after failing to agree on a new deal with the local volleyball federation (FRVB).
Early this week, the FRVB president Charles Uyisenga said that the two parties were close to reaching a deal but it’s now clear Tarsio has moved on.
"I have been very patient with the federation and it’s time for me to move on,” the Brazilian said.
"I had a great experience working with the Rwandan national team and I wish them all the best in future tournaments.”
Tarsio saw out his one-year contract in December and has been pushing for a new one since.
Among other achievements, Tarsio is credited for guiding the national junior team to 4th place in last year’s CAVB Africa Junior Championship in Libya.
In his absence, Paul Bitok has been filling the void and is likely to stay in charge ahead of the 10th All Africa Games slated for September 3-18 in Maputo, Mozambique.
