TAOS- Justin Mico scored one and set up another to rally the Junior Wasps to a 3-1 victory in yesterday’s friendly against Rio Vista U19 at Taos Eco Park stadium.

It was a perfect start for the youngsters who open their Fifa U-17 World Cup campaign against England on June 19.
Charles Mwesigye Tibingana doubled the advantage at the stroke of half time to give Rwanda a well deserved 2-0 lead at half time.

After the break, Riley Mcgovern reduced the deficit for Rio Vista but Innocent Mugabo put the game beyond the hosts’ reach with a clinical header.

Marcel Nzarora proved that he has fully recovered from his knee injury after pulling off a couple of top saves.

In his post match interview, head coach Richard Tardy said that he was pleased with the performance.

"We played well today. The boys did not look fatigued despite playing under tough conditions,” he said.

On Sunday, the team will play their second friendly against Classic Gladiators U-18 before winding up with M Rush Nike Argonauts U-17 on June 9.

Uruguay and Canada are Rwanda’s other Group C opponents.
