NYARUGENGE - The president of the National Women Council (CNF) has called on vendors to form cooperatives to maximise profits from their activities.

Francesca Tengera was opening a three-day training for women vendors in Nyarugenge District on how to acquire bank loans.

"I encourage you to mobilise your colleagues to stop carrying out their businesses on the streets. Form cooperatives because this will enable you to improve your welfare,” she said.

"The main objective of this workshop is to organise women involved in small businesses to know how they can access finances from the micro finances, Umurenge SACCO and banks”.

The seminar attended by 321 women from Nyarugenge District, was organised by CNF in collaboration with the Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA).

Participants will be trained on how to start small income generating projects and how to write project proposals.

"I thank CNF for organising this seminar because it has changed our mindsets towards the daily activities we carry out,” Shaira Mukagatete, one of the trainees, said.
