AFTER finishing a distant eighth in the just ended KCB East Africa Golf tour-Kigali leg, Jean Baptiste Hakizimana has switched his attention to the Bujumbura Open that tees off this Wednesday.

The 23-year-old won last year’s event and is confident his knowledge of the par-71 Bujumbura golf course will work in his favour.

"I have played on the course for the last five years and have never finished outside the top two,” he confidently said.

"Of course I expect stiff competition this time with likes of Greg Snow (KCB Golf tour-Kigali leg winner) in contention,” he added.

Over 35 professionals from the region are expected to tussle it out for the Rwf6m cash prize.
