KIGALI - In the framework of providing strategic support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Rwanda Development Board (RDB) has established a Business Incubation Centre at Masaka, Kigali.
Winfred Ngangure officially launched the centre on behalf of the RDB C.E.O, John Gara.
"The overall aim of the centre is to stimulate growth of sustainable SMEs through service provision, capacity building and access to finance, markets and technologies,” Ngangure said.
"The centre will mainly target SMEs (small and medium enterprises) dealing in making leather goods, bamboo products, cheese and processing fruits.”
A statement from RDB observed that a transparent selection process would be used to determine successful candidates to benefit from the incubation centre.
"The successful businesses will be assisted by a personal mentor, obtain individual management and marketing support,” reads the statement.
"They will also have their own office space and many other advantages to support, grow and strengthen their businesses.”
RDB believes that the strict selection process and steady monitoring will help guarantee success.
"The centre will provide high quality mentoring and continuously updated training-modules in various technical and financial topics to the successful candidates.”
The incubation centre was set up in line with requirements of upcoming entrepreneurs to facilitate them in measuring up standards of national and international markets.
