RWANDA’s duo of Emmanuel Ruterana and Jean Baptiste Hakizimana yesterday made the cut in the East African Golf Tour-Kigali leg after shooting one over 73 and three over 75 respectively.

Ruterana, who had finished 2nd on Day one after a bogey-free three-under-par 69 had a bad day yesterday after three bogeys on holes 1, 2, 7 and 17 but birdies on holes 3,12 and 14 redeemed the 28-year-old to finish 4th on Day two.

"I put a lot of pressure on myself to lead the board today and that is why I shot bogeys on holes one and two.

But I will have to be calm and keep my composure tomorrow (today),” Ruterana told Times Sports after the close of the day.

Compatriot Jean Baptiste Hakizimana did not fair any better after carding three over 75 to finish in 6th place. Rookies Ernest Ndayisenga and Olivier Munyaneza failed to make the 21 man cut after carding 79 and 77 respectively.
Kenya’s Greg Snow leads with 139 going into Day three.

The 21-year-old, who is sponsored by Serena Kigali Hotel for the tourney, shot three under par 69 yesterday.

Snow won the Arusha leg 10 days ago and is favourities to win the Grand prize of Frw7m.

The youngster attributed the come back to his solid hit and softer greens.

"The Course management has been good. The rains made the Greens softer and my solid hit was spot on,” noted Snow, who is leading a very strong field.
