Editor,
I would like to applaud the organiers of Salax Awards, for a job well done encouraging our local artistes to continue growing in the music industry.
Initiatives such as Salaz Awards can only encourage young and upcoming artistes to carry on doing what they do.
Recognising their efforts does not only motivate them but also puts a glimmer of hope for the future. I believe with many initiatives such as this, our music industry can grow.
I call upon the government to continue supporting such activities and encourage other people in the private sector to invest in the industry. With more investiment, the music industry can be very lucrative.
Some countries have reaped big economically through the music industry. It is up to us to support our very own to transform it into a more vibrant industry.
It is also up to the artistes to strive for quality by producing music that transcends boundaries.
If we can dance to Nigerian, Kenyan and Ugandan music, why won’t the same apply to Rwandan music?
