Sure, the name always talks for the owner. Blessed Sisters confirmed this to Rwandans when they won a regional ‘Groove Award’.

The ‘Blessed Sisters’ is a local music group of three blood sisters. The gospel group comprises Dorcas, Rebecah and Peace, who started their music in 2007 as humble church girls. To be precise, the church is Kigali’s St Etiene Cathedral.

In December 2010, they released their debut 12 track album titled, "Gira Intego”. Their music ranges from contemporary gospel melody to hardcore worship songs.

For all those years in music, the Blessed  Sisters lagged in the background until March 30, 2011 when they scooped the ‘Groove Awards’ in Nairobi Kenya, as the best gospel artists in Rwanda.

They brought home the prestigious award, beating six favourite contenders like the seasoned Aime Uwimana, Dominic Nic and Gaby.

The sisters say that they are determined to achieve more than just winning awards. Spreading the gospel through music, doing charitable works and educating the youths about HIV/ AIDS are part of their main objectives.

Though the group has stepped onto the ladder of fame already, they still devote themselves to regular participation in church ministries.
