Neg G; is one of the artists with multiple names all defining his power. The commonest are General, Bicyeri (translated as coins/money) after his 2009 song. He recently added another one, Papa Kevin, now that he is a happy father of Kevin.

Diplomate; is not troubled by calling himself the ‘Rap Messiah’, Cesar, and the Saint from Kicukiro. Could this be devotion to religion, or a form of ego?

Uncle Austin; the self acclaimed ‘King of the Dancehall in Rwanda’ must have disregarded his competitors like Kamichi, when he chose this title.

Miss Jojo: She calls herself the ‘dancehall queen’. But indeed, Josiane Uwineza is the face of female musicians in Rwanda.

Riderman; is yet another ‘king’ in this industry. He has called himself the "King of Crunk” ever since his early days in the group UTP Soldiers.

Jay Polly’s new pet name "Gospel Gangster” comes with questions like; "Has he turned into a gospel rapper?” Or; "are there some gangsters in the gospel realm”. Or it is just the ego?

Another local rapper, Miheto Bably calls himself the ‘Bible Verses’. In his hit song Isoko, he called himself ‘Bible Killer’.

Kavuyo; might be in the United States, but his name is still active in local showbiz. He was known as ‘Nyirimyuka’. Literally translated as "One with staying Power.”

Bull Dogg: Much as he is believed to be the local rapper with the best natural voice, he also has the highest number of pet names like, ‘Notorious’, ‘Heavy Weight Rapper’….
